Rajaji Tiger Reserve was earlier known as Rajaji National Park. It is one of the famous sanctuaries of Uttarakhand. It is located in the Shivalik range of Uttarakhand Himalayas, which is spread over an area of 820 km.
There are about 600 elephants, 250 leopards, and 16 tigers, which are on the verge of extinction very soon, although this area is fully protected, and every effort is being made to save them. Dehradun, Haridwar, and Pauri Garhwal districts are included under Rajaji Tiger Reserve. It has now become the second Tiger Reserve in Uttarakhand after Corbett National Park.
Before 1983, there were three sanctuaries in this national park – Motichur Sanctuary established in 1964, Rajaji Sanctuary and National Park established in 1948, and Chilla Sanctuary established in 1977, these three were merged to form Rajaji Tiger Reserve on 20 April 2015. This sanctuary was named Rajaji National Park after the great freedom fighter of India, Chakravarti Rajagopalachari.

Rajaji Tiger Reserve Safari Booking & Time
